Study Resources for College Students


The student situation:

Almost every student experience times when we struggle with our courses.  Whether that be downward motivation, inability to focus, or the course is just not within your interest.  You have that one extra course you thought you could take in order to graduate sooner, or a job that requires more time and taking you away from your ability study with full attention and zest.

You begin your classes, the textbooks are thick, as you attempt to start organizing the content into course relevant and related notes, you find the information overwhelming. You attempt to study for an upcoming exam and spend more time than you should on searching the textbook for the topic you read about weeks ago and wrote something in the book.  You are in a rush and prepping this way for exams is too time consuming, there must be a better way you can organize notes and get right to the point with the textbook that will save time, yet help you build a higher level of understanding the content.

As a college student you often are required to divide their time between taking classes, work, family, friends and still manage to tackle your study time to do well in your courses. As a student, We know what you are going through, the time constraints, the struggle to focus, the ability to understand throughly what is taught and for you, and all students  there is a need for specially designed study resources that will support you in organizing course content and develop a higher level of knowledge to make you successful in your courses with a deeper level of understanding the course topics, because flash cards are not enough.

Study resources in Study Elements has this specific design that allows you to think through the course topics and make connections to the content and support you in asking the professor the right questions for clarification, guide study groups, possess organized notes that are compiled quickly either by textbook or the internet. As a result, you will be able to study effectively, and study time is well organized, and topics are easy to find.  Go ahead, give the resources on Study Elements the right kind of studying you deserve.

What We Do

Study Elements promotes on demand study resources for college students through crowdsourcing.  In crowdsourcing, it means that a particular course audience (professor, student or expert) can write study resources and post them to their vendor store in this website.  Go ahead and join, to see what’s all in there.

Psychologists have studied the ways that best allow people to acquire new information, to retain it over time, and to retrieve information that has been stored in our memories. One important finding is that learning is an active process. To acquire information most effectively, we must actively manipulate it.

You can use the resources here to do the following:

  • organize textbook notes
  • Guide study groups
  • Guide questions to the professors for clarification on content
  • Prepare for exams more efficiently
  • Manipulate information to retain and understand content more throughly

Although simple repetition does help us learn, psychological research has found that we acquire information most effectively when we actively think about or elaborate on its meaning and relate the material to something else.

Study resources here in Study Elements do just that, it will guide you to manipulate, and apply the subject concepts through your world knowledge, materials you’ve read/studied  or your experiences.  The purpose is to help you build a deeper level of critical knowledge on the content.

Become a resource writer!

Not sure how to do it?  It’s quite easy, and if your resources sell, you will profit from it. (Unless you post resources for free, yes you can). So, how do you start?

  • Set up/join your account on — it’s free.

  • You need to follow a textbook, like college courses, most require a textbook and professors do use textbooks for their courses.  You can always go to to find free text books on many college content courses.   You can compare it to other syllabuses online to verify, if the text and the course use the same subjects:

  • If you use openstax be sure to recognize the website in your posting:  (They called me and gave me the OK to promote the use of their website of free online textbooks, they just ask for the recognition in your resources)

  • As you begin to read the text, think of the student trying to retain and learn the information in the text.  The more they can manipulate the information into different activities, the more they will understand and retain that information.

  • Manipulation of information from the textbook can be in the following ways:  compare and contrast, describe and give examples of, draw and label, define, explain, simply put yourself in the role of a student in that course. 

  • You can post digital resources where students can manipulate textbook information in a digital type forms such as matching in both textbook concepts and content vocabulary.

Really, anything you are skilled at making in a digital form, would be awesome.

  •  Be sure to make and post your TERMS OF USE on the last page of your resource.  This gives directions on your resource, if others can copy and pass out your resource. (for free or to sell it themselves)
